THE MOEC

Onto Tomorrow // From What Was, Spring 2024, “noun” 09 Exhibition

The Student Exhibitions Committee exhibits student work within the Michael O’Brian Exhibitions Commons (MOEC) and RBC Media Gallery collaboratively with the Libby Leshgold Gallery Staff.

The ‘MOEC’ is located on the second floor alongside the RBC Media Gallery, and the first floor of the Emily Carr University of Art + Design Campus.

The MOEC is comprised of four zones:
Zones 1, 2, 3 on the Second Floor + The RBC Media Gallery
Zone 4 on the First Floor,
( Located beside the Media Resources Department. )

Exhibitions may utilize a third, half, or even one or more of these spaces depending on the scope of the exhibition.

The MOEC, RBC Media Gallery, and support from the Libby Leshgold Gallery provides our ECU community with the opportunity to showcase and highlight all kinds of work from the ECU Student Body.

Students are able to request the RBC Media Gallery for their exhibition within their proposal.

The RBC Media Gallery can best accommodate media based artworks especially in regards to projection, TV Installations, sound based media and more. For light sensitive works requiring a darker space, the RBC Media Gallery is also advantageous.

Requests for the RBC Media Gallery follow the same application process as those requesting the MOEC.

The RBC Media Gallery prioritizes media based exhibitions, but can accommodate other fields and mediums of work.

INSTALL

All accepted exhibition proposals are responsible for installing and de-installing their work.
Students are expected to have all necessary supplies for their show prepared.
